Old-Lady-Tablecloth Projects: random stuff

Good Crafternoon all:
True to my word herewith is a further selection of Old Lady Tablecloth projects for you to devour...

Specs case: Now what with my failing old Doris eyesight and all (years of sewing by candlelight), a girl really needs something nicer than those vile hard spec cases you get from the opticians. Went a bit mainstream on this one, using a Cath Kidston pattern taken from her 'Sew!' book.

Jolly on the inside as well as out (using the remnant of a previous shirt project, of course!)

Fancied-up lampshade: applied the same patchwork concept (as the quiled throw and pillowcase in my previous post) gluing it to the bottom edge of this lampshade. The shade was actually perfectly acceptable but I really just can't leave things alone...! Note the addition of the orange ricrac: been waiting for an excuse to use it for ages. The satin ribbon was glued on to disguise the raw edges of the patchwork.

Roman blind: made from a whole tablecloth, lined with sheeting and edged with woven ribbon.

Jaunty laundry bag: boys crusty underwear definately not allowed.

I do recommend buying Cath Kidstons Sew! book. Its easy to follow and the projects are quite small and very doable. And they all have a use afterwards which is something I feel is very important dont you? After all we only have so much junk-drawer space!
